CONTENTS AND DESCRIPTION
A SELECTION OF THE
ANTIQUITIES OF THE COUNT OF SALOP.
Drawn & etched by William Dawson. Published 1824 by Edward Jefferey & Son,
Pall Mall. London.
A fairly scarce book. Notable for the
inclusion of a Thomas Moule Map of Shropshire. This is unique in our
experience in that it shows a plate mark, with overall dimensions of 9x11.25
inches. 1824 is before publication of the full range of English County Maps
by Moule in English
Counties Delineated. One wonders whether perhaps this was the very first
example of Moule's expertise, which was to lead to the many later editions
that also appeared in Barclay's Dictionary & others?
