Dr. Samuel BUTLER (1774-1839)

Became Lord Bishop of Lichfield and later Coventry. His 'Ancient Geography' was first published in c.1822, with 'Modern Geography' being produced in c.1825. It ran to numerous editions up to about 1850, being continued by his son.
