CURRIER & IVES
Nathaniel CURRIER and James IVES created a collection of some 7000 lithographs and prints which reflected life in the fledgling America from 1840 onwards. The burning of the steamboat LEXINGTON was the 'spark' which ignited this amazing publishing house. Currier produced a hand colored lithograph within a few days of the event & was inundated with orders. From this small beginning, current events as they unfolded, were recorded in the unique style of Currier and Ives.

is no longer available. However this series of Reference Pages are being
left on line. We do hope you will find them to informative and helpful. They

We Sometimes (Though rarely) have these prints in stock. They are suitable for framing, and are available ON APPROVAL.
Overall size 19x14 inches.
All have wide margins, but are just too large for our scanner, so that may not be apparent on some images.
