EMAIL ENQUIRIES

We are now retired and the Postaprint Website is no longer available. However this series of Reference Pages are being left on line. We do hope you will find them to informative and helpful. They provide details of many of the maps, books and engravings we had the pleasure of dealing in over so many years. A full index of all the Reference Pages will be found HERE.
However, my wife does have an eBay store with many attractive old maps & prints on offer.

This Page is provided as a REFERENCE RESOURCE - it is NOT an Inventory.

Some Background Information About John Gould and his wife Elizabeth

John Gould was born in 1804 in Dorset, England. The son of a gardener, he became a taxidermist but recognised his ability to create fine illustrations of, mainly, birds.

His marriage to Elizabeth Coxon in 1829, who was also a talented painter, resulted in a partnership which was to produce some of the finest illustrations of the 19th century.

Elizabeth, who had worked with Edward LEAR, accompanied her husband to the Far East and Australia, where many exotic species were recorded.

John Gould died in 1881.

SOME GIFT IDEAS FROM JULIE

FOR THE HARD TO BUY FOR, perhaps a map or print of somewhere important in their lives. For example, where they were born, got married, went on honeymoon etc.
A general search should find that, I do have a wide selection of topographical views and historical maps. America's, UK, Europe, Asia, Africa, Australia, The World, Etc.
Or do a search for their last name, you will be surprised what you might discover.

This of course applies to anniversaries, graduations, births etc. For example some friends of mine are soon to celebrate their Silver Wedding Anniversary, so I am having the SILVER BIRCH FLOWER FAIRY matted & framed for them.

Or for the little person in your life, the Cicely M. Barker Flower Fairy Alphabet makes a wonderful keepsake if you buy the letters to spell their name.
For instance, t
he letters below spell M A R Y !
