The Maps in this
Geography Atlas are by Thomas Jefferys (aka
Gefferys), who was born c.1710 Died 1771. He was a publisher and engraver based
in London. Appointed Geographer to Frederick Prince of Wales in 1748 & then
to King George III.

The work contains numerous maps all adorned
with attractive cartouches. The examples shown have modern hand colouring.
