Some Background Information about the Prints

The prints from this work are of a very high quality. The birds are depicted in splendid colour and detail. The breeds shown are primarily canaries and cage birds of various breeds, although there are also birds that are found in the wild such as the jackdaw, magpie, woodpecker, jay, kingfisher, finch, nightingale and blue bird etc.

These images are made by a lithographic process called chromolitho, which enabled the detail and vibrant colours.
