AMERICAN SCENERY - The fine engravings by William H Bartlett. c.1840. 121 scanned pictures of these views which depict 19th century America.

FULLARTON Archibald & Co - The ROYAL ILLUSTRATED ATLAS. Published c.1879. Large coloured maps of the World, including several with attractive VIGNETTES. Especially strong on maps of Islands, such as Bermuda, Java, Iceland, Faroes, Madeira, Azores, Trinidad, Jamaica, and many others.

GORDON Pat. - GEOGRAPHY ANATOMIZ'D or THE GEOGRAPHICAL GRAMMAR. This page details the delightful miniature maps by Robert MORDEN from the 7th Edition printed in 1716. The Twin-Hemisphere WORLD MAP (in original hand color) and the Map of AMERICA show California as an island. 12 scanned images. Robert Morden Link. Bibliography.

JOHNSON AJ - The NEW ILLUSTRATED FAMILY ATLAS ran to various editions, with varying content. This page covers the 1862 publication by Johnson & Ward. (Complied by Colton & Johnson). Large coloured Maps. US States. World. Continents. Countries. Many with Vignettes.

KITCHIN Thomas ( 1718-1784). Profilic English map maker. His work encompassed most parts of the Globe as well as English and Welsh County Maps. Our page includes a short biography and a number of scanned images of his work.

MALLET Allain Manesson (1630-1706). This famous French cartographer who produced DESCRIPTION DE L'UNIVERS in Paris in 1683. Some 700 delightful miniature maps, views and other engravings. There are a lavish number of illustrations available for you to view. Several show California as an island. Australia was still being discovered. A remarkable chef d'ouvre! Well worth a long browse !

MARTIN R.M. - THE INDIAN EMPIRE. Published c.1860. Steel engraved views of India.

MILLAR G.H Attractive and decorative copper plate maps and views which appeared in THE NEW AND UNIVERSAL SYSTEM OF GEOGRAPHY, published in London c.1782. Numerous scanned images.
