CONTENTS AND DESCRIPTION
A huge reference book, with nearly 900 pages, many
coloured maps - see below - and '800 illustrations', mostly wood engravings
in text, but some fascinating ones.

The maps encompass not only the US States, but also city
plans & countries of the work. There is a very long plan of
New York
City, some 26 x 10.5 inches. It has only been possible to scan a small
section of the NY plan. Most of the maps are by Fisk & Co, Engravers, of New
York.
