 The full title is 'Elementary Course in Geography designed for primary and intermediate grades and as a complete shorter course'. Swinton's other work includes 'Complete Course in Geography'. 'Word-Book Series'. 'Language Series' and 'Outlines of History'.
 The Atlas was published by Ivison, Blakeman, Taylor and Company of New York & Chicago.
 The detailed accompanying text is enlivened by numerous small in text wood engravings, many in delightful vignette style. Here is just 1, much enlarged example, Sugar Plantation in Cuba.
