TITLE: THE TOPOGRAPHICAL DICTIONARY
Benjamin Pitts CAPPER first published the Topographical Dictionary of the United Kingdom in 1802 with 46 maps. This was extended to 47 maps in the 1812 edition. It ran into further editions up to 1829.
The maps were drawn by R. Phillips.
THIS IS A LIST OF THE MAPS IN THE ATLAS
The overall
size on the County Maps, Except Yorkshire is some 5x8 inches - the engraved area
about 100x175 mm.
Yorkshire, Wales, Scotland and Ireland all all twice this size.
