Some interesting information about Northumberland and the prints

Northumberland, being one of the northern counties of England is full of picturesque scenery. It's northernmost border is with Scotland, to the west is Cumberland and Durham is to the south.

The industrial nature of this particular area is depicted as well as the attractive scenery. A good example of this is the Lymington Iron Works which, along with the Crown Glass Factory, gave the town of Lymington (or Lemington) commercial significance.

There is an abundance of Castles, Priories and Churches in Northumberland, all with interesting architecture. These prints also show early shopping centres (or malls) as depicted in the Royal Arcade in Newcastle, this early covered shopping arcade, has a beautiful multiple domed roof, with carved decoration and the uniform shop fronts show the type of businesses that were present in such places in 1838.
