ENGLISH HISTORY:
DECORATIVE PORTRAITS OF KINGS OF ENGLAND PROVENANCE: GEORGE VERTUE, 1683-1756. A British Artist & Engraver. Beside his artistic talent, he was a noted Antiquarian, who, for many years 'wrote down everything he saw heard or read'. This encompassed some 40 notebooks, which are now in the British Library archives.
