TITLE OF THE MAP: Carte particulière de la Côte occidentale de l'Afrique depuis Cap Blanc jusqu'au Cap de Verga et du cours des rivières de Sénéga et de Gambie [Map of the West Coast of Africa from Cape Blanc to Cape Verga and the course of the Senegal & Gambia rivers]

This large eighteenth century map shows the coast of West Africa between Ras Nouadhibou (marked with its French name of Cap Blanc) which is today on the border between Mauritania and Western Sahara, and Cape Verga, near Boffa in present day Guinea. It includes the coastline of the present day countries of Mauritania, Senegal, The Gambia, Guinea-Bissau and part of Guinea. The course of the Senegal and Gambia rivers are charted in detail. The Cap-Vert is shown, with "Dacar" (Dakar) and the Île de Gorée both marked, as is the Île St-Louis to the north. Banjul is marked as Pte. de Banion.

CONDITION: Good; suitable for framing. The map has been printed on two unjoined sheets. The map is presented as it will look when joined. The map can be joined prior to shipping/dispatch, or sent unjoined according to the preference of the buyer. We will contact the buyer prior to shipping to ask whether you would like the map to be joined (allow an additional 2 business days) prior to shipping, or sent unjoined. The upper sheet has a vertical crease to the right of the centre line and a blemish at the top of the map to the left of the centrefold. Packing

Items smaller than A4 size are usually packed in a stiffened, board-backed envelope. Larger items are rolled and packed in postal tubes. Large items which are too stiff to be rolled in wide-diameter tubes are mailed in all-board envelopes. In the unlikely event of damage in transit, please send the affected item or items back to us and we will provide a replacement or refund.

Returns
