CHINA. Nan Yang [NANCHANG], on the River Kyang [Gan]. PARR, antique print 1746

Price: £38.99

CAPTION PRINTED BELOW PICTURE: 'Nan-Yang a Chinese City on the River Kyang'

This print is advertised elsewhere as being of Nanjing rather than Nanchang, however we think it is of the latter city. It appears within the chapter relating to Jiangxi, it can be inferred from the text that the "River Kyang" is the River Gan, and the presence of hills or mountains behind the city argues for Nanchang. Further, the title of this print differs in other editions of the book, where the city is stated to be "near Kan chew" [Ganzhou]
