On the block north of Eastcheap between Philpot Lane and Rood Lane, a 25-storey tower rose at 20 Fenchurch Street in 1968 and came down in 2008. It gave way to Rafael Viñoly's building of 2014, whose glass scorched cars on Eastcheap in 2013 and whose Sky Garden opened in 2015. The National Provident Institution was on Gracechurch Street from 1843 and in a head office taking in 3 Eastcheap from 1960, and it was bought by AMP in 1999. Midland Bank became HSBC, and the Metropolitan and District Railway beneath Eastcheap is now the Circle and District lines. Goad's plans were made to assess fire risk and kept current with pasted slips recording new occupiers, altered layouts, demolition and rebuilding. This sheet's latest dated correction, from November 1967, marks 41 Eastcheap and 16–18 Rood Lane as vacant. The sheet was resurveyed and reissued in September 1949, with a 1949 copyright date, and the key plans acquired with it carry corrections as late as October 1970 and March 1971. Other streets on the sheet include St Benet's Place.

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0923/9583/1643/files/P-9-001117a_e07a4011-de13-4921-b4bb-6c8b5ee6dddb.jpg?v=1792149017
