Vanished landmarks include the National Theatre and Van Kleef Aquarium beside Fort Canning, Outram Prison next to Pearl’s Hill, Raffles Institution at Bras Basah and Kallang’s tidal swamp. Names such as Istana Negara, the National Library and the Thai Consulate date the original to 1960–65, and an island inset shows the airport at Paya Lebar.
