G.L.C. County Hall was then the seat of the Greater London Council and not yet a visitor attraction. The GLC was abolished in 1986 and the London Marriott Hotel County Hall opened in 1998, as the riverfront turned from municipal administration to hospitality. The sheet also names County Hall South Block and St Thomas' House, the students' memorial club of 1927, as well as the Riddell House swimming baths in the nurses' home of 1936–37. The St Thomas' Hospital redevelopment site is labelled as lacking available plans in March 1971, and the hospital's thirteen-storey North Wing followed in 1975. The plan was kept to assess property and fire risk, and it was amended with pasted overlays recording changed uses, altered layouts, demolition and new building. Here those overlays record the clearance and reorganisation of small streets and plots for the enlarged hospital, and the layouts of those streets and plots are preserved in the outline edition reissued in February 1959. The printed base heading is dated June 1889. The latest dated correction identified is March 1971, and the key plan acquired with the same group also records corrections to March 1971. Other streets on the sheet include Lambeth Palace Road, Westminster Bridge Road, Belvedere Road and York Road.

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0923/9583/1643/files/P-9-001209a_6b530748-6c94-43aa-a638-692237279c3d.jpg?v=1792149246
goad-london-237-se1-waterloo-county-hall-shell-centre-york-road-1959-1971-map-p-9-001212
Goad London 237—SE1—Waterloo—County Hall—Shell Centre—York Road 1959 (1971) map

Charles Goad Insurance Plan of London, sheet 237 [Waterloo: County Hall, York Road, Belvedere Road and the Shell Centre]

Goad's fire insurance plan of London, sheet 237, covers Waterloo around County Hall and York Road (SE1), and it names what went on inside the buildings. G.L.C. County Hall appears with its conference hall and library, alongside County Hall North Block and the annex offices, the Shell offices with their theatre and swimming pool, the General Lying-in Hospital and the Waterloo railway arches. Shell's theatre and pool went when the Shell Centre's lower wings were cleared for Southbank Place in 2015, though the tower still stands. The General Lying-in Hospital closed in 1971, and its maternity premises now form part of the Premier Inn London Waterloo hotel. The Greater London Council, which occupied County Hall, was abolished in 1986, and the building now houses hotels and attractions. The medical, civic and corporate facilities here preceded today's substantial visitor economy. The plan was kept current for property and fire-risk assessment with pasted overlays recording changed uses, altered layouts, demolition and new building. It records construction within County Hall in March 1971, which is its latest dated correction and a detail the outline edition lacks. The sheet was resurveyed and reissued in February 1959, with a 1959 copyright date, and the key plan acquired with the same group records corrections to March 1971.
