Issued in 1905 with the report of the Royal Commission on London Traffic, the plan maps twenty lettered schemes, from widening the Marylebone and Euston Roads to new viaducts from Blackfriars and Waterloo Bridges. Some smaller works went ahead, and the Mall was carried through to Charing Cross with Admiralty Arch, completed in 1912, but the avenues stayed on paper. It is a compelling picture of the Paris-style London that might have been, just as motor traffic was beginning to grow.

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0923/9583/1643/files/P-7-028549a_3293d3e8-4f9d-4585-b898-9dec1d31439f.jpg?v=1792148861
