Here the sheet shows the Times and Observer premises with casting, machine and paper-storage spaces, alongside printing works, newspaper premises and the Associated Newspapers garage. The presses have gone, with The Times leaving for Gray's Inn Road and, in 1986, for Wapping. Apothecaries' Hall on Blackfriars Lane, which dates from 1672 and is the City's oldest livery hall, still houses the Society of Apothecaries. The Mermaid Theatre at Puddle Dock, Bernard Miles's playhouse of 1959, is now a conference venue, and Blackfriars Station, beside the Blackfriars Bridge approach, was rebuilt by 2012 with platforms spanning the river. The sheet was drawn to assess fire risk and kept current with pasted overlays recording new uses, altered layouts, demolition and rebuilding. It carries vacancy annotations dated November 1970, which are its latest dated correction. It was resurveyed and reissued in November 1941, with a 1949 copyright date, and the key plans acquired with the group were corrected as late as October 1970 and March 1971. Other streets on the sheet include New Bridge Street, Pilgrim Street, Ludgate Broadway, Apothecary Street, Carter Lane, Church Entry, Friar Street, St Andrew's Hill, Queen Victoria Street and Upper Thames Street.
