Blue arrows and dated stages sweep down the Malay Peninsula, red bars mark Allied defence lines, and command posts punctuate the route past Alor Star, Kuala Lumpur and Kuantan. Roads, rivers and mountain ranges show the country the campaign crossed. It was originally published on 8 November 1942 as one of two folding maps in the Malaya volume of Asahi Shimbun’s History of the Greater East Asia War, an Army Ministry-sponsored series.
