Lincoln's Inn Hall and Lincoln's Inn Library, both opened by Queen Victoria in 1845, are still in daily use, and the Ashworth Centre was added beneath the Hall's terrace in 2018. New Square, Old Square, Stone Buildings and Old Buildings remain chambers beside the Lincoln's Inn war memorial. Facing the Fields, the Land Registry Office shown on the sheet is now LSE's Sir Arthur Lewis Building, which was converted for teaching in 2013 as the university expanded into former government offices. The sheet also names the Council of Legal Education chambers, and the New Court overlay labels the new building \"To be offices\", recording an office development within the Inn. The plan was prepared to assess fire risk, and it carries pasted revisions recording new uses, altered layouts, demolition and rebuilding, although none of the revisions on this sheet carries a date. The sheet was resurveyed and reissued in January 1946, with a 1950 copyright date, and the key plans acquired with it carry corrections as late as October 1970 and March 1971. The Public Record Office, with its reading rooms and document storage, then dominated the block between Chancery Lane and Fetter Lane. Its records went to Kew, and since 2002 the building has been King's College London's Maughan Library, preserving a scholarly use as state records gave way to university study. The Bank of England Law Courts branch on Fleet Street closed in 1975 and has been The Old Bank of England pub since 1994, while the Law Society and St Dunstan-in-the-West remain. The sheet also names the Royal Insurance offices, Du Pont House and Rosebery House. Printers, bookbinders and law stationers around Carey Street, Bell Yard and Star Yard reveal the trades that supplied the legal quarter's paper-based work. The law remains here, but electronic filing at the Royal Courts of Justice has transferred part of that document traffic from printed bundles to digital files. These working plans were drawn for property and fire-risk assessment, and they carried pasted overlays recording new uses, altered layouts, demolition and new building. The latest dated correction here is a vacancy annotation of September 1969 beside St Dunstan-in-the-West. The sheet was resurveyed and reissued in January 1962, with a 1962 copyright date, and the key plans acquired with it carry corrections as late as October 1970 and March 1971.
