Issued by the American Red Cross Service Bureau and printed by the Eighth U.S. Army Printing Plant, it locates 29 facilities, including Eighth Army and USASCOM C headquarters, the Yokohama Red Cross Club, post offices, fleet landing, and Octagon Canteen and Theatre. Red streetcar routes and numbered or lettered streets guide personnel around the occupied port. The Eighth Army’s advance headquarters entered Yokohama on 30 August 1945, but the waterfront Base PX provides a closer dating clue. Shown beside Ōsanbashi pier, this military store opened in the Trade Hall on 3 November 1945; its move inland to Matsuya in Isezaki-chō was reported on 4 February 1946. The original PX location therefore suggests a map compiled during that interval. USASCOM C’s inactivation on 1 March 1946 independently supports this early occupation setting.
