The sheet shows the Corporation of Lloyd's in relatively new premises, opened in 1958, on the east side of Lime Street. They gave way to Foster's Willis Building of 2008, which today preserves the insurance connection on a much larger scale. Prudential House, shown at the Leadenhall Street corner, made way for the Scalpel tower, completed in 2018. The block between Fenchurch Avenue and Billiter Street is now One Fen Court, whose free roof garden opened in 2019. The sheet also names Baltic House, Atlantic House and the offices of Commercial Union, Eagle Star and Royal Insurance, which have since merged into Aviva, Zurich and Royal \u0026amp; Sun Alliance respectively. The plans were made to assess property and fire risk, and they were kept current with pasted overlays recording new uses, altered layouts, demolition and rebuilding. The latest dated correction, from August 1969, is a vacancy note at 36–37 Leadenhall Street. The station of 1841 still keeps its 1854 frontage, but it lost its train shed to office blocks built over the platforms in the 1980s. Lloyd's Register remains in Collcutt's building of 1901, which Richard Rogers extended in 2000. The sheet's latest dated correction, from August 1969, is an alteration note on the offices of Lloyd's Register. The sheet also shows the Institute of Marine Engineers in its Memorial Building of 1957 in Mark Lane, commemorating marine engineers lost in the Second World War. The institute left in 1999 and is now IMarEST, based in Westminster. Furness House, Africa House, Lloyd's Avenue and Midland Bank are also named, as is Aldgate Pump, which is still standing. The plans were compiled to assess property and fire risk, and they were kept current with pasted overlays recording changed uses, altered layouts, demolition and new building.
