Campbell Buildings were railway dwellings of about 1890 for railway employees, and they were demolished in the early 1980s. The G.L.C. workshops and offices shown here maintained vehicles and municipal services. Morley College, founded in 1889, was rebuilt in 1958 after the Blitz destroyed its Victorian building, and it merged with Kensington and Chelsea College in 2020. Christ Church, also shown on the sheet, still keeps its Lincoln Tower of 1876, which was half paid for by Americans, and the sheet names St George's R.C. Primary School and Lambeth police station as well. Goad kept these underwriters' plans current with pasted overlays recording changed uses, revised layouts, demolition and new building. The printed base heading is dated June 1889, with a 1950 copyright date. The latest dated correction is an under-construction note of March 1971 on the G.L.C. garage and flats in block 2620, and a key plan acquired with the group also records corrections to March 1971.
