Drawn by Hunt in captivity, approved by German camp authorities and by British censors and published in Britain in 1941. From Renaix the route passes Aalst and St Nicholas before crossing the Dutch frontier to Hulst and Walsoorden, 26–28 June 1940. Hunt records overcrowded barracks, civilians supplying food, reunions between officers and men, and the notably warm Dutch welcome.
