Max Bieder’s sweeping bird’s-eye view centres on Corviglia and Piz Nair, extending across Celerina, Samedan and the Engadin lakes towards Maloja. Numbered descents, ski tours, lifts and winter-sport sites include the Cresta Run, Olympic Run and fashionable Guinness and Niarchos runs, while railways, roads and settlements give the panorama broader topographical interest. Particularly striking are the two colourful side panels, incorporating Paul Gusset’s celebrated skiing design first created for a 1948 St Moritz poster. The lift network dates this map state closely to 1958–61: it shows the Celerina–Marguns gondola, opened in 1958, but omits the Salastrains–Munt da San Murezzan lift, opened in 1962.
