The main map extends from Lai Chi Kok and Sham Shui Po south to Tsim Shatsui and east through Kowloon City, San Po Kong and Kai Tak, identifying streets, rail and bus routes, ferry services, piers, estates, schools, hospitals, hotels, parks and proposed works in English and traditional Chinese. Four inset plans enlarge Yaumati and Mong Kok, Tsim Shatsui, Kwun Tong, and Lai Yue Mun with Cha Kwo Ling. Their coverage reflects the rapid eastward spread of residential and industrial development, while Kai Tak’s long harbour runway and the numerous ferry routes reveal the infrastructure on which the growing city depended. A letter-and-number grid serves the street index. Published in the year construction began on the Cross-Harbour Tunnel, and three years before it opened, the map captures Kowloon’s transport network immediately before direct road traffic between the peninsula and Hong Kong Island transformed movement across Victoria Harbour.

https://www.antiquemapsandprints.com/fr/products/sunsun-s-street-map-of-kowloon-hong-kong-vintage-folding-city-plan-1969-p-6-112353
