Insets depict the northern and southern polar regions, while detailed place names and route markings cover remote islands and ocean passages. Originally issued on two separate, unjoined sheets, the map measures approximately 67 x 108 cm when assembled. The sheets survive in exceptionally clean condition, with fresh original colour and only minor signs of age.
