Gauttier Duparc, Pierre-Henri

Pierre Henri Gauttier Duparc (1772 – 1850) was a French Navy officer and admiral. He captained the Chevrette in 1819 during the travels of Jules Dumont d'Urville which resulted in the Venus de Milo's purchase and presentation to Louis XVIII. His interest for naval chronometres earned him the nickname of "Gauttier l'horloge" ("clockwork Gauttier"). We stock his series of sea charts and plans of the ports, harbours, bays, anchorages and roadsteads of the Mediterranean, Black Sea and Sea of Azov, "Recueil des Plans des Ports & Rades de la Mer Méditerranée de la Mer Noire & de la Mer d'Azof" (1851)
