From Budapest and the Carpathians to Crete, and from the Adriatic to Constantinople, it shows Serbia, Montenegro, Albania, Bulgaria, Roumania, Greece and European Turkey with relief tints, railways built and proposed, and capitals. Two red armistice lines mark the collapse of the Central Powers' southern flank: 29 September 1918, when Bulgaria gave up to the Allied army from Salonika, and 4 November, by which time that army stood on the Danube. Salonika, Monastir and the Vardar and Struma valleys, the forgotten front, are all here.
