Stationery Office then ran a manufacturing complex. Rotary printing, typecasting, binding and paper storage filled a whole block beside St Stephen's Parliamentary Press, so government publishing here was factory work rather than office routine. HMSO's publishing arm was privatised in 1996 as The Stationery Office. The sheet shows the former John Harvard school as the John Harvard Teachers Centre, beside a separate parcel post sorting office. Schweppes premises are recorded too, as is Laystall Engineering, which was founded in 1903 and is now in Wolverhampton. The sheet also names the National Provincial Insurance Co.'s glass warehouse and offices, a government garage and a recreation ground. Goad's plans were made to assess property and fire risk, and this sheet carries numerous pasted slips recording changed uses, altered layouts, demolition and rebuilding. The latest dated slip, of March 1971, marks premises in block 2371 vacant. The sheet was resurveyed and reissued in November 1952, with a 1952 copyright date, and the key plan acquired with the group records corrections to March 1971.
