Hooper returned to England and invested colonial profits in land, commissioning surveys of this type for estate management and improvement. A memorial tablet in nearby St. David's Church, Moreton-in-Marsh, records his charitable endowment to the parish poor. Attractive working survey with numbered fields and acreage table. The location of  the map is clearly identifiable from the course of Westcote Brook, which runs across the bottom of the plan and which remains unaltered today. St. Leonard's 12th century Grade 1 listed church is marked in the plan.
