Rivers, roads, ferries, towns and frontier settlements are carefully recorded, together with the principal routes by which British and American armies manoeuvred across the region. Rather than illustrating a single engagement, the map presents the wider campaign in which control of communications and river crossings proved as important as success on the battlefield. Published in the London first edition of William Gordon's History of the Rise, Progress, and Establishment of the Independence of the United States of America, one of the earliest major histories of the Revolution, only seven years after the fighting it records, the map is encountered on the market only infrequently and is considerably scarcer than the better-known Revolutionary War maps issued in contemporary British magazines.

https://www.antiquemapsandprints.com/products/the-carolina-s-with-part-of-georgia-revolutionary-war-gordon-conder-1788-map-p-6-112060
