ENGRAVED BY AND UNDER THE DIRECTION OF EDWARD FINDEN WITH DESCRIPTIONS BY THOMAS MOULE. William Westall (12 October 1781 22 January 1850) was an English landscape artist who was born in Hertford. His younger years were spent in London, He was the son of a brewery manager, Benjamin Westall and his second wife Martha. In his early youth he travelled as far afield as Australia, much of it under the patronage of Sir Joseph Banks.
