Terms of Sale

All items are offered subject to prior sale and remain the property of Antiqua Print Gallery Ltd. until full payment has been received. Orders will be dispatched within two business days of receiving cleared payment.

Authenticity

All items offered are genuine antique or vintage, created or printed at the date (or dates) stated on the product page.

  • "Antique" typically refers to items over 100 years old

  • "Vintage" refers to items that are at least 50 years old

  • "Original" means the item was produced at the time of first publication — not a modern reproduction

Publication dates are provided as accurately as possible and are based on the source (book, atlas, or periodical) from which the item was extracted.
We do not sell modern copies.

Condition

Antique and vintage maps and prints naturally vary in condition due to their age and handling.

  • All items are in good, clean condition, unless otherwise stated or unless visible on the image provided on the product page

  • Minor flaws, marks, or blemishes are possible but major flaws are always noted in the condition statement

  • If a print or map includes text or imagery on the reverse, this is clearly stated

  • Many old maps and prints were originally folded for binding for convenience; any such folds will be noted in the description. We never add new folds or creases to items

Size

The stated size refers to the printed image or map area only, typically the area shown in the listing image.

  • Margins are not included in the stated dimensions but are suitable for framing unless noted otherwise

  • Sizes are given in both inches and centimetres, and are approximate

  • Please wait until you have received your item before ordering mounts or frames — we cannot accept responsibility for incorrectly sized custom framing orders

Payment

We accept payment by:

  • Credit and debit cards

  • PayPal

  • Bank transfer (details provided automatically at checkout)

We do not accept cheques or cash.

Right to Refuse or Cancel Orders

We reserve the right, at our sole discretion, to refuse or cancel any order. Reasons may include (but are not limited to):

  • Suspected fraudulent or bad-faith activity

  • A history of abuse or harassment directed toward our staff or business

  • Previously unfounded legal threats or claims

  • Defamatory, false, or misleading public feedback

  • Inability to locate the item or if it has already been sold

If an order is cancelled, we will notify you and issue a full refund. Where possible, we may suggest suitable alternatives.

All transactions are governed by English law.
