Beatles map [of Liverpool] - John - Paul - George - Ringo
A 1974 pictorial musical fan map of Liverpool, designed by McCaffrey and Sharp and issued by the city’s Public Relations Office, is a vibrant and scarce tribute to the Beatles, created to capitalize on their immense popularity just a few years after their 1970 breakup. The map marks key locations associated with the Fab Four, including the Cavern Club, Strawberry Fields, Penny Lane, Walton Hospital (where Paul McCartney was born), and the band members’ former homes and schools. Styled with a psychedelic aesthetic after the animated Yellow Submarine film, it also features the iconic submarine floating in the River Mersey alongside a portrait of the band. It was originally issued as part of a commemorative souvenir set titled "Liverpool to the World" to promote tourism during a period of economic decline for the city, and to celebrate Liverpool’s rich musical heritage. A remarkable map capturing the essence of the Beatles and celebrating one of the most influential bands of all time.
