An uncommon plan illustrating Berlin immediately after the landmark municipal enlargement of 1861, the reform that laid the foundations for the modern capital. Six newly incorporated territories—including parts of Tempelhof, Schöneberg, Moabit, Wedding and the Charlottenburg districts—are distinguished in colour, recording the precise areas transferred to Berlin under the expansion legislation, while the blue line marks the historic Weichbild, or civic district, within which these changes took place. Published on the eve of James Hobrecht's celebrated development plan of 1862, the map captures the city at the pivotal moment when medieval Berlin began its transformation into one of Europe's great industrial metropolises. Small in format but historically significant, it documents the administrative reorganisation that preceded Berlin's explosive nineteenth-century growth and remains an evocative record of one of the defining episodes in the city's urban development.

Packing
Items smaller than A4 size are usually packed in a stiffened, board-backed envelope. Larger items are rolled and packed in postal tubes. Large items which are too stiff to be rolled in wide-diameter tubes are mailed in all-board envelopes. In the unlikely event of damage in transit, please send the affected item or items back to us and we will provide a replacement or refund.

Returns
We accept returns for any reason if sent back to us within 14 days of receipt of your order.
