[Harry Butler Daft. Batsman. England & Notts County footballer. Nottinghamshire cricketer] A Son of one of the most accomplished and graceful Cricketers of his time, H. B. Daft had the best example of batting always before him, From his school days at Trent College, the younger Daft showed promise of excellence as a Cricketer. His first introduction to Notts cricket was in 1885, so that his record with the County extends over ten years. Of late, too, he has been one of the most consistent scores in the Eleven. Can hit if he likes, but is more inclined to a defensive game, a style which, perhaps, he has latterly carried to excess at times. Besides being a sure field, he is also a useful change bowler, One of the foremost forwards at Association football at his best, and also one of the foremost lacrosse players some ten years ago.
