SKU: P-7-004836
[Herbert William Bainbridge. Batsman. Football F.A. Cup Finalist. Warwickshire cricketer] A TRIPLE captain, of Eton, Cambridge, and Warwickshire in succession, MR. H.W. BAINBRIDGE has had a consistently good, if not an exceptionally brilliant record as a Cricketer. A fine score in his last Eton and Harrow match fulfilled the belief that he would be of use to the Cambridge Eleven, as indeed he was. His first introduction to County Cricket was with Surrey, by virtue of residence. Under the same qualification, after the prescribed period of probation, he subsequently represented Warwickshire, as he has done ever since. To his Captaincy, too, a good deal of the success which has attended that County lately, is due. As a batsman, has excellent defence, with plenty of hit on occasions. Was in his day a good Association Football Player as well
