'The Ian Fleming Thriller Map'
A striking 1987 pictorial world map plotting more than 100 settings from Ian Fleming’s James Bond books. Numbered cross-hairs carry 007 from London and the Caribbean through Europe, Asia and the Pacific and correspond to a dense book-by-book index along the lower edge. Running from Casino Royale to the late stories, it records locations and routes together with villains, women, weapons, cars, games and drinks. John Zeleznik’s deliberately cinematic illustration—Bond with Walther PPK and cocktail, a glamorous companion, Aston Martin, missile and Japanese castle—is superimposed upon a vast Union Jack. Published in Los Angeles by Aaron Blake Publishers as one of its folding Literary Maps, with graphics by Susan Lewis; Cornell additionally credits Molly Maguire as designer. Issued in 1987, the year The Living Daylights reached cinemas, and retained with its original card cover. A highly decorative crossover piece for collectors of Fleming and Bond memorabilia
