[Kobenhavn / Copenhagen] Bilag 2 [Appendix 2] Statsbanernes Forslag [State Railways Proposal]
A scarce vintage public transportation planning map showing proposals for the Copenhagen S-Tog rail network expansion, issued by the "Trafikkommissionen af 1944", a body that was disbanded in 1953. We can find no other example of this map in the public domain, or indeed any map published by the Commission. The legend identifies S-tog lines projected to be complete in 1965, Proposed new S-Lines, The Nærum Line, and the planned Køge Bay Line, which was eventually completed in 1972. The Lundtofte Line, a planned S-Tog line from Jægersborg to Nærum, is projected as complete in 1965; legal authority for the expropriation of land was granted in 1951, and preparatory works continued until 1966 when work stopped. However, the Construction Act was repealed in 1977 when the project was finally abandoned. The map is undated, but must have been issued between legal authority for the Lundtofte line being granted in 1951 and the Trafikkommissionen af 1944 being disbanded in 1953.
