'Somerset'
A richly decorative illustrated map of Somerset, published shortly after the Second World War to commemorate the county’s agricultural, industrial, and strategic contribution to the war effort. The map records patterns of wartime food production—including dairying, cider, cheese, stock rearing, and arable crops—alongside military installations, airfields, and coastal activity along the Bristol Channel. The location of V Corps, U.S. Army Headquarters at Norton Fitzwarren is specifically noted. Text panels reference the wartime expansion of British farming and the role of the Women’s Institutes in sustaining food supplies and rural life. Inset views depict notable landmarks including Bath Abbey and the Roman Baths, Wells Cathedral, Cheddar Gorge, Montacute House, Dunster Castle, and Glastonbury. Portraits and texts recall prominent Somerset military figures such as Admiral James Somerville, and A.V. Alexander, First Lord of the Admiralty. Packing
Items smaller than A4 size are usually packed in a stiffened, board-backed envelope. Larger items are rolled and packed in postal tubes. Large items which are too stiff to be rolled in wide-diameter tubes are mailed in all-board envelopes. In the unlikely event of damage in transit, please send the affected item or items back to us and we will provide a replacement or refund.

Returns
We accept returns for any reason if sent back to us within 14 days of receipt of your order.
