'中英文九龍全圖 附街名索引 / Sun Sun’s Street Map of Kowloon // Yaumati and Mong Kok // Tsim Shatsui // Hung Hum // Kowloon Tong and Yau Yat Chuen // Layout Plan of the New Kai Tak Airport'
Sun Sun’s large bilingual plan records Kowloon in 1967 amid Hong Kong’s rapid post-war expansion. This is the Hong Kong which featured in the opening sequence of the James Bond movie "You Only LIve Twice", released the same year. The principal map follows the peninsula from Lai Chi Kok and Cheung Sha Wan through Sham Shui Po, Kowloon City and San Po Kong to Kai Tak, naming streets, railways, bus routes, ferry services, piers, public buildings, schools, hospitals, estates and proposed works in English and traditional Chinese. Five inset plans provide larger-scale coverage of Yaumati and Mong Kok, Tsim Shatsui, Hung Hum, Kowloon Tong and Yau Yat Chuen, and the layout of the new Kai Tak Airport. The airport runway projecting into Kowloon Bay, areas of reclamation and extensive new housing show how transport infrastructure and land development were reshaping the city. A letter-and-number grid serves the accompanying street index. Marked as the 1967 revised and augmented edition, the sheet is both a practical contemporary guide and a detailed record of Kowloon shortly before construction of the Cross-Harbour Tunnel began.
