'Ports in the United Arab Emirates — Dubayy (Dubai) — Ash Shāriqah (Sharjah) — Umm al Qaywayn — Ra’s al Khaymah'
Large-format British Admiralty chart of the principal ports of the United Arab Emirates, centred on an exceptionally detailed plan of Dubai Creek and Port Rashid, accompanied by separate harbour plans of Sharjah, Umm al Qaywayn and Ra's al Khaymah. Although issued as a navigational chart, it is today an important historical record of Dubai during the formative decades following the creation of the UAE in 1971, before the dramatic expansion of Jebel Ali, extensive coastal reclamation and the city's transformation into a global metropolis. The reverse bears the ownership stamp of Elcome International, Dubai, one of the Gulf's leading Admiralty chart distributors and marine navigation specialists, providing attractive contemporary provenance. An increasingly scarce and visually impressive document of the early development of the modern Emirates.
