'Plan of Freehold Property Situate at West Norwood. To be sold by Auction by Messrs. Drivers, Jonas & Co.'
A detailed colour-printed auction plan of freehold ground-rent property in West Norwood, prepared for Drivers, Jonas & Co.’s sale at the London Auction Mart on 1 April 1935. Based on Ordnance Survey mapping, it plots houses, gardens and footprints along Hamilton Road, Carnac Street, Clive Road, Chalford Road and South Croxted Road, with Surrey Mews, Emmanuel Church (“Seats for 900”) and almshouses. Coloured parcels distinguish the numbered auction lots and record house numbers, making the sheet a precise record of property interests and the built fabric of this south-London district between the wars. Chalford Road had been developed in 1880–82 as modest workers’ housing; the plan captures those narrow plots before later changes. Published by Drivers, Jonas & Co. and printed by Cook, Hammond & Kell Ltd., Westminster. Offered with the original West Norwood & Stratford auction catalogue, which was issued with two plans; this offering includes the West Norwood plan, while the Stratford plan is not present.
