[William Walter Lowe. Right-arm fast bowler. Cambridge cricketer] The seniors' match of the present year laid the foundation of W.W. LOWE'S Blue at Cambridge. He had come up to the University with the advantage of an excellent bowling record at Malvern College, from 1891 to 1893. Still it was his bowling in the match just named which ensured him a really fair trial in the University Eleven. That he acquitted himself with credit the records of the season will prove conclusively. Fortunately his best performance was reserved for the great match of the year. His bowling at the finish of the Inter-University match was effective to a degree. He clean bowled the last four batsmen in Oxford's second innings, and, indeed, did much himself at the finish to determine the result of the game. Fairly fast, he bowls with great Judgment and generally a good length, wants careful playing. He is besides a good field and by no means a bad bat
