Christ appearing to St Peter, Pan teaching Apollo and a returning hunting party show the range of designs reproduced after Annibale Carracci. Born in 1560 and active in Bologna and Rome before his death in 1609, Carracci worked in both figure painting and landscape, and these prints were published in 1835, more than two centuries later. A scene of St John joins the Christian subjects, an image of Silenus the mythological ones, and a river landscape the scenery.
