Clitheroe Castle is represented by Grose’s eighteenth-century engravings and later impressions. Dawson’s 1832 and 1837 plans and James’s 1868 boundary surveys map the town and its parliamentary surroundings, including Whalley and Twiston. A separate town plan appears on Creighton and Walker’s 1835 Lancashire borough sheet.
