Finden, Edward Francis & William

Edward Finden (1791–1857) and William Finden (1787–1852) were English brothers and prominent line engravers active in the early 19th century. They collaborated on many popular illustrated books, often working from paintings by leading artists of the time. Their most notable publications include Finden’s Views of the Ports, Harbours and Watering Places of Great Britain (c.1837), based on drawings by William H. Bartlett, and Finden’s Illustrations of the Life and Works of Lord Byron (c.1833). These works contributed significantly to the popularity of literary and topographical illustration in Victorian Britain.
