Set within the Thames loop beside Chiswick, Grove Park grew in the nineteenth century from the grounds of Grove House, with the river and the station shaping its appeal. Vintage street maps from Geographers' A–Z and Geographia follow the residential estate south of the railway through the interwar years, with editions of 1923, 1928, 1933 and 1937 placing it beside Acton Green, Bedford Park and Gunnersbury. A Richmond sheet of 1932 looks across the river to Mortlake, Barnes and East Sheen, while later maps of 1964 and 2000 carry the district over Chiswick Bridge to North Sheen, Kew and the Public Record Office.
